Developing Your Book

Writing a book doesn’t start with the writing. It starts with developing your idea, then planning out the way your book will present your idea or tell your story.

Writing without a plan can be fun and inspiring and is great for collecting your thoughts. But writing this way often leads to confusion or burnout after only a few chapters. A book is complex; creating a quality book requires development work.

Book development is about making a thoughtful plan, but that doesn’t have to mean a traditional outline. I work with intuitive, highly creative authors, and I have a non-linear mind myself. We’ll get your ideas organized in a way that is useful to you.

I offer collaborative book development sessions to ensure you’ll begin writing from a solid foundation, ready to craft a coherent, well-structured manuscript.

Get started with a free connection call

Let’s have a quick video call to get to know one another before working together. You can tell me a bit about your book idea, and I’ll let you know how I can help.

Book Development Starter Session

This video call can be a structured process in which we’ll validate your book idea, narrow your premise, identify who you’re writing for, create a hook or a working title, and begin organizing your content.

Or it could be an exploratory conversation to discuss your purpose and your goals in writing a book. We might talk out your book idea, determine if you’re ready, discuss your publishing options, and get your questions answered.

After our call you’ll have a clear picture of what your book could be and a solid plan for your next steps. I’ll send you a short memo noting everything we talked about with further recommendations and resources. You are also welcome to record the session.

starter Session: One 90 minute video call $125
